Kathleen Vicars, 62, of Wellston, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on February 15, 1960, to the late William J. Vicars and Frances Louise Skeens Vicars. She was a 1978 graduate of Wellston High School and received an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing-RN degree from Hocking College. She was employed as a RN at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center for several years. She enjoyed her home, watching TV, and the companionship of her beloved dogs, Rascal and Rowdy.
Besides her parents, who both passed away in 2015, she was preceded in death by her brother and caregiver, William C. “Bill” Vicars in 2016. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Cheryl A. Vicars, of Wellston; a nephew, Mike (Angie) McCorkle of Wellston; a niece, Sarah McCorkle; great nephew and nieces: Carson and Karlee McCorkle, Madison Stewart, and Rhettlee Wicker, all of Wellston; two aunts: Betty Roush of West Columbia, West Virginia, and Bonnie Crabtree of Minford, Ohio; and all of her very close friends.
Kathleen requested a graveside service to be held at her family’s lot located near the back of the cemetery. Her loving family will finally all be together again.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. The Nurse Honor Guard of the Ohio Valley will be present to honor Kathleen at the end of her life’s journey for her dedication to the nursing profession.
