Eloise Stewart Clay, age 91, a former resident of Wellston, passed away Saturday, July 10 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was born August 19, 1929, in Coalton, Ohio, daughter of the late Turley I. Dixon and Stella M. Richards Dixon. Eloise was a homemaker for the majority of her life and was a member of the Jackson Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Ken Culver of Greensboro, NC; grandson, Braden Culver of Greensboro, NC; and nephews, Michael Souders of Toledo and Jay Souders of Chillicothe. Besides her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her first husband, William Stewart; second husband, Charles Clay; sisters, Helen Gallivan, Betty Souders and Arthella Tipton; and brother, Elmer “Buddy” Dixon.
In keeping with Eloise’s wishes, her body was cremated. Graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
