James A. Marks, age 57 of Wellston, passed away on Sunday, May 30 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Wellston on February 16, 1964 to the late Harold and Ella (Wilks) Marks. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Elda and Gerald.
He is survived by two brothers: Harold and Joey; two sisters: Ann and Mattie; a special niece, Naomi Marks; and special friends: Harold Davis and Rodney Smith. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Jim was an avid deer hunter. He also enjoyed fishing, shooting matches, taking care of the Jackson County Beagle Club, and taking care of the Fulton farm and cattle at the Berlin Crossroads. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coalton.
Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Friday, June 4 at 1 p.m., with Pastor Andy Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Garden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
