Richard “Dick” L. Doty, age 75, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. He was born April 21, 1943 to the late Harold and Esther Doty.
Dick was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at and retired from OSCO as a pattern engineer. One of his joys was officiating for sporting events, and in 2004 he was inducted into the OHSAA Officiating Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his son, Tim Doty of Jackson, Ohio; daughter, Tami Hughes and her husband, Josh Dewar of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Neenah Hughes and Jack Dewar; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvetta Doty; and brother, Harold Doty, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019 at 12 p.m. with Pastor Larry Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Rush Township Burial Park in Scioto County.
