Paul Edward Chilcote, age 75, departed this life on the Lord’s day, Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at his home. He came to know the Lord on April 18, 2004 and attended Elevate Ministries in Jackson. He was born March 1, 1943 in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late Lorenzo and Cora (Stufflebeam) Chilcote.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gracie (Mannering) Chilcote; four daughters: Robyn Wolford, Sharon and Roy Comer, Kimberly and Bill Walk, and Tonya Miller; 10 grandchildren: Alex, Justin, Natasha, Brittany, Shannon, Erica, Victoria, Samantha, J.P., and Braden; 11 great-grandchildren: Easton, Zander, Raegan, Alaina, Parker, Makenzie, Zayden, Madison, Dean, Bobby, and Karli; three step-grandchildren: Christopher, Brittany, and Kayla; and seven step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Johnson; and a brother, Eddie Chilcote.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Art, John, and Robert; and three sisters: Deloris, Vera, and Lavada.
Paul was employed by Asplundh Tree Expert Company for 47 years and retired in 2009. Outside of his home life, he loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and doing yard work. He enjoyed spending time alone at Hammertown Lake.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Russ Strange and Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
