William “Bill” Moore, age 89, of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born in Greenup, Kentucky on November 29, 1926 to the late William Elson and Nancy Jane (Nichols) Moore.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Connie Moore; sons, Gib (infant) and Charles Moore; three brothers: Clyde, James and Roger; and three sisters: Freda, Julie and Gladys.
He is survived by a son, Clinton Moore; daughters: Virginia (Jenny) Vance, Patricia (Patty) Hood and Elizabeth (Beth) Bays; one brother, Gary, and one sister, Bonnie.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Chicago during WW II. He was employed for many years by Buckeye Steel Castings.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Monday, November 14 with Pastor Travis Potts officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson with DAV services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
