Daisy Mae Spry, age 83, of Jackson, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 2, 1932 in Jackson County to the late William Francis and Mary Marie (Tope) Ross.
She is survived by her children: Cecilia (Paul) Musick; son-in-law, Jay Chose, Rosemary (Terry Rainer) Blair and son-in-law, Mike Blair; grandchildren: Angie Baker, Teresa Musick, Tina Meredith, Tonya Simpson, Paula Musick, Will Chose, Annabelle Chose and her precious Brandelyn Blair. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her beloved cat “Frisky,” along with several nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Grover Spry; daughter, Ruth Chose, sisters: Mary Legue, Stella Harmon, Opal Sickles and Flora Poth; and nieces and nephews: Susie Burley, Sue Price, Linda Sickles and Walter Harmon.
Daisy loved spending time with her family, crocheting, doing word-search puzzles, watching old-time westerns and going for rides in the country to look at deer.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home from 12 to 2 p.m.
