Homer Junior “June” Exline, age 85, of Jackson, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 20, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Regina Massey. June was born on July 17, 1930, in Starr, Ohio to the late Clyde and Pearl (Brunton) Exline. He was retired from the Operating Engineers and was a Korean War Veteran of the Unites States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna (Haines) Exline of Jackson, Ohio; his children: Regina Gay (Michael) Massey of Patriot, Ohio, Phillip Lane (Karen) Exline of Jackson, Ohio, Paula Jane Sims of Jackson Ohio, and Sharon Lynn (Michael) Shoemaker of Thurman, Ohio; grandchildren: Jeremy Fulk, Glen (Letara) Fisher, Misty Fulk (Thomas Roark), Scott Sims, Darrin (Brianna) Exline, Kelly Ireland, Bryan Sims, Kaci (Jacob) Cooke, Brittney Sims, and Briggs Shoemaker. Also surviving are great- grandchildren: Savannah Fulk, Jasmine Fulk, Landon and Berlin Luck, Lealah Fisher, and Rogan Exline; and one sister, Anna Maude “Jo” Russell, of Jackson, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings: Essie “Bernice” Kennard, Juanita “Needy” Leffler, Orville “Jim” Exline, Gladys McManaway, Albert “Bob” Exline, Harold “Heck” Exline, Oden “Buzz” Exline, and Franklin “Frank” Exline.
He enjoyed riding horse, driving truck, and sports. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He attended Victory Chapel Church, was a member of the Jackson Grange 1221, a 4-H Advisor for 30-plus years and belonged to the American Legion. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Rev. Jim Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with military graveside services by the Disabled American Veterans Post #45 of Jackson.
