Evelyn Whiting, age 89, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born September 13, 1925 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late Delford Clarence Post and Shirley Bell Seeley Post.
Evelyn retired from the Kuppenheimer Manufacturing Company in Wellston, also known as the Pants Factory, where she was employed for 41 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 371 Ladies Auxiliary in Wellston.
Evelyn is survived by son, Jerry Thomas Post (Thelma) of Ray; three grandchildren, Teresa Gillespie (John) of Jackson, Jerry Dale Post (Kelly) of Chillicothe and Jeffery Earl Post (Stacey) of Cambridge; five great-grandchildren, Christy Blackford (Jon), Lisa Gillespie (Greg Justice), Kelsey Post, Kegan Post and Mikayla Post; two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Carson Blackford; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Whiting in 1996; brothers, Harry Post, Gene Post and Earl Post; sisters, Merle Post, Alma Ray, Adaline Fairchild and Garnet Ingham, and one infant granddaughter.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Bishop James Marquis officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.
