William M. “Bill” Lambert, Sr., age 65, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born June 30, 1949 in Wellston, Ohio, the son of the late Lee Lambert and Virginia R. Miller Lambert. Bill was a heavy equipment operator, having been formerly employed by Waterloo Coal Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston, the V.F.W. Post 9092 of Wellston and he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.
Bill is survived by his wife of 17 years, Debbie Mercer Lambert; children, Leon White (Watcharee) of Wellston, Misty Marshall of Allensville, William M. Lambert, Jr. (Erin) of Allensville, Heath Whetstone (Kimmy) of Wellston, Matt Whetstone of Oak Hill and Kevin Whetstone (Maria) of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Dakota, Jamie, Samantha, Katy, Larissa, Belle, Lizzie, and William Eli; great-grandchildren, Brendan and Hailee; brothers and sisters, Margie Pigge (Fred) of Wellston, Jerry Prinzbach (Rose) of Wellston, Jenny Kisor (Glen) of Wellston, Kathy Lathey of Jackson, Tim Lambert (Teri) of Florida, Dean Lambert (Mel) of Gallipolis, Ronnie Lambert of Columbus and Kevin Lambert of Wellston; former wives and mothers of his children, Bonnie Wood of Wellston and Sandy Lambert of Hamden, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friends, Charlie Leach, Peggy Cardwell and Roger Pugh.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by siblings, Cheryl Nagel, Donnie Lambert, Dale Lambert and Susie Lambert.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours on Friday at 7 p.m. with Pastor John Notter, Jr. officiating.
