Carl David Cooper, age 79, passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his home in Oak Hill, Ohio. He is the son of the late William and Ena (Sissel) Cooper.
Carl served in the United States Army in Germany. He was a truck driver for many years at Seagraves Fire Trucks. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and spending time with his family and friends. Carl will be sadly missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nettie (Canter) Cooper; three sisters, Wilma Caldwell of Oak Hill, Ohio, Patricia Simpson of East Rochester, Ohio, Linda Griffis of Missouri; sisters-in-law, Shirley McCain of Hicksville, Ohio, and Freda Woods of Oak Hill, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Carl (Linda) Canter and Donald (Debbie) Canter of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Eddie Keith Canter of Lucasville, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and numerous friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Cooper, Donald D. Cooper, and Elmer Cooper; and one sister, Mary.
Calling hours will be held at the family home place on Gieke Ridge Road, Oak Hill, Ohio on Friday, June 6, from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service on Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
