Robert Henry Clay Jr., age 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at his residence in Wellston. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1927 to the late Robert H. Clay, Sr., and Leta (Parish) Clay.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Dorothy Segatto, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Fae (Murray) Clay, a son, Robert H. Clay III of Wellston; a daughter, Diana (Scott) Munn and grandson Ion Munn of Dayton, Brothers: Ronald and Rodger Clay of Georgia, and a sister, Gayle Bennett; Step-sons: Kerry, of Coalton, and Rusty, Ronnie, Kelly and Harvey Lochwood, all of California; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert was a Life Member of the D.A.V. Chapter and Unit 45, American Legion Post 371 and the AMVETS.
His many friends will miss him, and his faithful dog “Patches.”
Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home, 135 Broadway St., Jackson, on Friday May 30, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jackson, with military services by the DAV.
