Florence “Sue” (Silvey) Howell, age 90, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. She was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on March 17, 1924.
She is survived by daughter, Johnette Silvey of Bellbrook, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Deborah (Silvey) Gallagher (Jack) of Lexington, Kentucky; grandson, John David (Kristi) Silvey of Lexington, Kentucky; brothers, Walter (Vahio) Corvin of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Greg (Lola) Corvin of Jackson, Ohio; and special friends, Terry, Zachary, Alex and Katelyn York of Bellbrook, Ohio; and Alonzo’s daughter, Jane (Pete) North and family of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, John Silvey; second husband, Alonzo Howell; sons, David (Mike) Silvey and Robert Silvey; and her brother, Stanley Corvin.
Sue was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She spent most of her life in Oak Hill working at the Oak Hill Hospital, owning and operating a Dairy Cream in Oak Hill and a fabric shop in Jackson. Later she moved to North Ft. Myers and Summerfield, Florida, and then eventually to Dayton, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio. Friends may call one hour prior from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
