Clarence R. Clagg, age 70, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014. He was born March 4, 1944 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late Calvin and Darlene (Moore) Clagg.
Clarence was the local business owner of Clagg’s Pallet Shop beginning in 1967 as a partner with his father, Calvin Clagg. In 1992 he became sole owner until retiring in March of 2009.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly (Morris) Clagg of Oak Hill, Ohio; his four children, Darren (Jill) Clagg of Vinton, Ohio, Jason (Rebecca) Clagg, Misty Clagg, and Kara (Andrew) Gilliland all of Oak Hill, Ohio. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Thomas Clagg, Adam Clagg, Lauren Clagg, Logan Clagg, Brendan Clagg, Owen Clagg, and Lyla Gilliland; two great-grandchildren, Caden Clagg and Kayleigh Clagg; a sister, Thelma Jenkins; three brothers, Ronald (Betsey) Clagg and Norman (Edith) Clagg all of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Robert (Roseanna) Clagg of Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was one son, Clarence Thomas Clagg.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bryon Carmon officiating at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jeffrey E.
