Norma L. (Snider) Wevurski

Norma L. (Snider) Wevurski, age 74 of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away Saturday March 22, 2014. She was born February 28, 1940 in Calhoun Co., WV, the daughter of the late Donald and Letha (Holpp) Snider.

Norma attended Parkersburg City Schools through the ninth grade, graduating from Jackson High School in 1958 and Rio Grande College, where she was a cheerleader. She was a beloved teacher in the Fairborn City Schools, serving as director of the Young Authors Program at its inception and was awarded Teacher of the Year; retiring in 1991 after 29 years of service. Norma was a longtime and active member of Mary, Help of Christians Parish in Fairborn.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; two daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Archer of Powell, OH, Susie (Tim) Stegner, also of Powell, OH; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Joe, Nick, Nathan, Maddie; a sister, Janet (Tom) Swaim of Fairborn; niece, Kelley (Darryl) Niven of Rochester Hills, MI; as well as other extended family and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 26, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday March 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Max Roadruck officiating. Burial will follow in the Byron Cemetery.
