Judith Ann Fetherolf, age 78, of Gastonia, North Carolina and a former resident of Hamden, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
She was born on September 6, 1935, in Hamden, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Claude Rothbe Barron and Bertha Leota Leser Barron. She was a graduate of Hamden High School and Rio Grande College. She was a teacher in the Wellston School System and retired in 1986. She was a member of Hamden United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She served as a missionary at the Bethany Christian School in Kentucky and at the Southwest Indian School in Arizona.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard C. “Jack” Mjkjatheney in 1976 and her brother, John Arthur Barron in 2007.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Rollie V. Fetherolf; a daughter, Lucinda (Steve) Bolinger of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a son, Jack (Lynn) Matheney of Gastonia, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Kyle (Stacey) Matheney, Jalyn Matheney, and Kenna Matheney and a great-grandson, Marcus Matheney; as well as step-children, Steve (Carol) Fetherolf of Wellston, Ohio; Kathy (James) Best of Avon, Ohio; and Keith (Pat) Fetherolf of McArthur, Ohio; four step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Roger (Anita) Barron of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and a sister, Martha Jane (Melvin) Libby of Hamden, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Saturday, March 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with Reverend Roger Haulk officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamden Cemetery.
