Brenda S. Jenkins, age 59, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born October 22, 1954 in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Herbert and Lucille Hansen Smith.
Brenda was a former employee of the Verizon Telephone Company and was a loving housewife. She was a member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls and she attended the former Franklin Valley United Methodist Church. Her passion was cooking and baking for her family and friends.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 15 years, Kenny L. Jenkins; son, Scott St. Elmo (Elizabeth) of Matthews, N.C.; step-daughters, Melanie Gillespie (Mick) of Hillsboro and Paula Coleman (Pat) of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Janelle Coleman, Jhaela Coleman, Megan Gillespie, Jordan Gillespie and Justin Gillespie; brother, Craig Smith (Rose) of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Debbie Smith of Valdosta, Ga.; niece and nephew, Karline and Craig, Jr.; mother-in-law, Edith Jenkins of Jackson, as well as her Aunt Dot and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Rev. Charles Jenkins.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Franklin Valley Methodist Church.
