William W. Carr, age 83, of Columbus, and a former resident of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at his home. He was born April 20, 1930 in Vinton County, Ohio, the son of the late Virgil W. Carr and Helen McKinniss Carr.
Bill was a 1948 graduate of Wilkesville High School and he was retired from the Federal Glass Company in Columbus. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Logan, the General Assembly of the Moose Lodge, the V.F.W. in Columbus and the AmVets in Jackson.
Bill is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron Carr and Mitzi Campbell of Indiana, Randy and Linda Carr of Columbus and Rick and Sally Carr of Columbus; special friend, Patricia Kilkenny of Columbus, as well as three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and special nieces, Christy Arbaugh and Joyce Williams.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma J. Carr, and his brother, Delbert Carr.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. James Weethee officiating.
