Margaret B. “Peg” Wheatley, age 74, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston, Ohio. She was born September 26, 1939 in Glenroy, Ohio to the late Archie and Margaret Deck Brooks.
Peg was a former employee of the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Wellston for 22 years. She was a member of the Coalton Free Will Baptist Church and she loved spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren.
Peg is survived by her children, Candy Brewer (Randel) of Coalton, Tammy Allman (Tom) of Marysville, Angie Wheatley (Glenda Daniels) of Wellston and Dale Wheatley (Renee) of Wellston; brother, Larry Brooks (Judy) of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Randi Westawski (David), Angel McCarty (Lucas), Stacia Miller (Jeremy), Aryanna Wheatley, Kelisha Wheatley, Hannah Wheatley and Austin Wheatley, as well as 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Thurman R. Wheatley in 1986; sister, Rosalie “Sis” Poling; brothers, Rodney Brooks and Roger Brooks, an infant brother, Lewis Brooks; and special friend, Clay Mullins.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Simpson officiating.
