Norman E. “Gene” Cooper, Jr.

Norman E. “Gene” Cooper, Jr., age 69, of Coalton, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, at the Edgewood Manor of Wellston, following a short illness. He was born January 4, 1944 in Ray, Ohio to the late Norman E. Cooper, Sr. and Edna Ross Cooper. Gene was a former self-employed truck driver who loved to travel. He spent many years enjoying the road with his wife on their three-wheel motorcycle. Gene was a huge fan of NASCAR and motor sports and he enjoyed going to tractor pulls.

Gene is survived by children, Cathy Cooper Davis (Jeremy) of Jackson and Scott E. Cooper of Wellston; step-daughter, Lori Silcott-Ousley (Michael) of Wellston; grandchildren, Seth Davis, Braylon Davis, Warren Silcott, Zane Moore and Michael Scott Ousley; sister, Carmen Cooper Carroll of Chillicothe; former wife and lifelong friend, Donna B. Cooper of Wellston, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lana Cooper Bobo and Barbara Cooper Howery.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.
