Marsha Lynn (Channell) Spriggs

Marsha Lynn (Channell) Spriggs, age 55, died peacefully on September 12, 2013 at her home. Born January 22, 1958 to the late Ike and Avonelle Channell, Marsha was raised in Jackson, OH.

Once diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, Marsha never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future. She became an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness attending the Race for a Cure in Columbus, Ohio and locally every year for the last ten years and was chosen to be a representative for Kroger Family and Betty Crocker Giving Hope A Hand Team.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ivan “Bud” Spriggs; two daughters, Heather (John) Nicholson, and Ashley Spriggs, both of Jackson. She is also survived by her sister, Karen (Mike) Merz; mother-in-law, Betty Spriggs; Donna (Dave) Dulaney, Margaret Cunagin, Thelma (Joe) Call, Betty Lynn (Paul) Snyder, Anna Ruth (Charlie) Barthelmes, David (Dena) Spriggs; and several nieces and nephews.

Marsha was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ivan S. Spriggs.

Funeral services are under the arrangement of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio. Friends and family may call on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jack Hughes officiating.
