Carol Irene (Scott) Jones, age 74, of Columbus, formerly of Blackfork, Ohio, passed away on Monday September 30, 2013 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She was born in Blackfork, April 14, 1939 to the late Glenn and Lelia (Keels) Scott.

She is survived by her son, William R. Scott Jr.; daughter, Sonia (Scott) Booker; sisters, Clovadys (Rev. Harry) Scott, Glenna (Alfred) Abbott; grandchildren, Jasmine and Derek Scott, and Justin and Johnna Booker and their father, John Booker Jr.; two nieces, Lucretia (John) Scalia, and Andrea Abbott. She is also survived by a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Wyonna; brothers, Wendell, Gerald, Kenneth, and an infant brother, Scott. She was also preceded in death by her foster brother, Richard Durkin.

Carol graduated from Decatur Washington High School in 1958. She was formerly employed at the Jackson Goodyear Plant, Pinecrest Nursing Home in Beaver, and Scenic Hills Nursing Home in Gallipolis, Ohio. She retired from Nelson Park Nursing Home in Columbus, Ohio as a Certified Nurses Aide. At an early age, she became a member of the Union Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Union Baptist Church with Rev Keith Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Cemetery.
