Robert L. “Bob” Wittkamp, age 62, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 4, 2013, at the Holzer Medical Center ER in Jackson. He was born May 23, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Henry E. Wittkamp and Ruby M. Estep Wittkamp.
Bob was a 1970 graduate of Wellston High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany. He was an employee of Merillat Industries in Jackson for nearly 30 years and was also a dedicated employee of the Jackson Monument Company for over 20 years. Bob was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and he enjoyed being around his family and friends and enjoyed life in general.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Wence Wittkamp; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph A. and Vanita Wittkamp of Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda M. and Nathan Molihan of Jackson; five grandsons, who loved their “Papaw Sponge Bob” dearly, Kacey Jarvis, Evan Jarvis, Khorydel Molihan, Rylan Molihan and Isaac Molihan; brother and sister-in-law, David and Tami Wittkamp of Jackson; niece, Courtney Trent and her husband, Chris, of Coalton, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with John Pelletier, CLP officiating and military honors by the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation will follow the service and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.
