Lucas Cook, age 81, of Coalton, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 6, 2013 at his residence. Luke was the oldest child, born on October 3, 1931 in Dry Creek, Kentucky, to the late Rufus and Anna (Fouts) Cook.
Luke was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed camping, playing his bass and guitar. He played in numerous bands till the time of his illness. He loved his music and enjoyed playing and singing for the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Cook; three daughters, Susie (TJ) Hill of Thurston, Oh., Pam (John) Fox of Pigeon Forge, Tn., Donna (Johnny) Walkuski of Chesterland, Oh.; two sons, Mark Cook of Wellston, Oh. and Tony (Rona Lee) Cook of Wellston, Oh.; two sisters, Elma (Joe) Goheen of Coalton, Oh., Pauline (Jim) Ray of Coalton, Oh.; three brothers, Walt (Rosetta) Cook of Ft. Meyer, Fl., Julis (Barb) Cook of Coalton, Oh., Larry Cook of Parkersburg, WV; as well as 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents, Lucas as proceeded in death by his two sisters, Velma Cook and Mable Cook.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.
