Clifford L. Pugh, age 66, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born December 19, 1946 in Glen Roy, Ohio, the son of the late Frederick S. “Dude” Pugh and Grace Vida Bright Sisson.
Cliff was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a former coal miner at Meigs Mine #1 and a past employee of the former Frick-Gallagher Manufacturing in Wellston. Cliff was a member of the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston, the V.F.W. Post 9092 of Wellston, the Am Vets of Wellston and he enjoyed camping.
He is survived by his children, Jeff (Loretta) Pugh of Jackson, Jennifer (Paul) Harrington of Jackson and Jamey (Dusti) Pugh of Jackson; grandchildren, Brandon, Kristen, Austin, Dylan, Lexi and Londyn; siblings, Freddie Pugh of Wellston, Linda Roach of Columbus, Roger Pugh of Wellston and Patty Dempsey of Mississippi, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl Stansberry Pugh, on January 16, 2013. Calling hours were set for Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ridgewood Cemetery with Pastor Dean Thompson officiating and military honors by the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions be given to the American Lung Association of Ohio, Southwest Region, 4050 Executive Park Dr., Suite 402, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241 or the American Cancer Society, South Central Area #20, 138 Marietta Road, Suite D, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
