Gordon E. Glass, age 85, of Jackson, departed this life Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born in Irvine, Kentucky, January 9, 1927 to the late Stone and Gladys (Snowden) Glass. After retiring from General Motors in Dayton he began doing his lifelong dream of farming, located in Jackson County. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and loved the Coalton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Loretta (Walker) Glass of Jackson; son, Ronnie (Sue) Glass of Beavercreek, Ohio and daughter, Lisa Stimus (Roy Houser) of Dayton, Ohio; three grandsons, Jeff, Matt and Rod Glass; four granddaughters, Heather Mullins, Rachel Spurling, Christa Dittman and Laura Dittman; three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant son, Preston Scott; two brothers, Bobby and Bill and one sister, Louise.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012 and are welcome to stay for the funeral service at 7 p.m. conducted at the Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Simpson and Rev. Robert Fulton officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, Kentucky.
