Chester A. Boster, age 94, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Thurman, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 20, at 2:30 a.m. Chester was born on September 11, 1917 in Bladen, Ohio to the late William Nelson and Carrie M. (Fulks) Boster. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Oak Hill. He was an Army veteran and served his country proudly in WW II.
Chester was married to the love of his life, the late Beulah Mae Sims on December 16, 1940. Together they had four children, whom he is survived by; three sons, Melvin “Bunny,” Gerald W. (Diane), Roger D. (Shirley) Boster, and daughter Redith G. (James) Bennett.
In addition to his children, he is survived by five grandchildren; Chip and Brian Boster, Stephanie (Michael) Scaggs, David Bennett, and Daniel (Rebecca) Bennett. He is also survived by four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Audrey Brewer; Katherine Casey of Thurman; Carolyn Sims; Roberta McCain of Kingston, Ohio; and Junior (Mary Lee) Sims of Circleville, Ohio.
In addition to his parents and wife, Chester was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Brady; Gilbert; Bert; and Sadie Boster.
Chester left home when he was 17 to serve two tours of duty with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Utah and Idaho. Upon returning home Chester went to work at the Oak Hill Brick Yard where he was a laborer. He then went on to be a truck driver and carpenter. Chester finished his working years as a cement finisher for The V.N. Holderman company for many years. In his spare time he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was most proud of his trophy Black Bear taken in Canada.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Leedy officiating. Friends may call the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 and from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral on Friday. Interment will immediately follow at Hill Cemetery in Thurman where there will a Military Graveside Service conducted by the DAV Post 45 of Jackson.
