Marcella Jean (Dearth) Scharbrough, age 69, of Pedro, Ohio went home with the Lord Saturday, December 5, 2015, at her home. She was born in Oak Hill September 27, 1946, to the late Orville and Mildred (Mitchem) Dearth.
She is survived by her husband and soul mate Jake Scharbrough, of Pedro; children, David (Donna) Scharbrough, of Portsmouth, Tish (David) Canter, of Oak Hill, Gayle Scharbrough (Thelma Mercer), of Eubank, KY., Denise (Randy) Shepherd, of Pedro, Wayne (Debbie) Scharbrough, of Piketon, Paul (Sherry) Scharbrough, of Chillicothe, and Crystal (Brian) French, of Pedro. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Johnson, and Brenda (Lawrence) Adkins, both of Oak Hill; brother, Orville (Patty) Dearth; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Scharbrough and Maxine (John) Scharbrough; and her beloved Hollie Jo.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Marcella worked outside the home for years, but her favorite job was being a wife and mother. Marcella’s hobbies included sewing, flowers and spending time with her grandbabies. She enjoyed being around children and Halloween was her favorite time of year. Even during her illness, she made sure her “babies” got their chocolate. She cared about everyone.
Pastor Ronnie Blagg will be officiating and calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 12-1 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
