Thomas L. “Buck” Clark

Thomas L. “Buck” Clark, 85, of Wellston went home with his Lord on Monday morning, January 12, 2015, at Holzer Medical Center-Jackson. He was born in Wellston on December 24, 1929, to the late Charles C. Clark and Delfa Styles Clark.

Buck held many jobs during his lifetime including shoveling coal and hauling water for the steam shovel at Broken Arrow, helping with the construction of the Atomic Plant, installing terrazzo tile floors in the Cincinnati VA Hospital and schools along the Ohio River for Pasquale Tile & Floor Co., and working on radiators for Dodrill Ford in Wellston, Pat Murphy Ford in Jackson, and Montgomery Trucking Co. He fixed radiators for G & J Auto Parts in Wellston for 15 years. He was the owner-operator along with his son of Clark’s Body Shop in Wellston since 1968. He was a member of the Pillar of Holiness Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Donna M. Clark in February, 2011; daughter, Connie G. Hardmen in 1983; granddaughter, April Ann Clark Williams in Aug. 2014; great-grandson, Nathaniel Williams in 2009; and brothers, Arnold G. Clark in 1998, and Charles “Chick” Clark Jr. in 2005.

He is survived by son and his wife, Thomas Dale and Jere Clark of Wellston; three grandchildren, Melissa Humphreys and Stefanie Williams (Mike) of Wellston and Deidra Dawn Rider (Shane) of San Tee, California; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Clark (Sharon) and Robert “Bobby” Clark ( Linda) of Wellston; five sisters, Charlene Mayfield, Barb Spires, and Cathy Barnes of Wellston, Ruth Salmons of Hamden, and Shirley Bagwell of Berlin Crossroads; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Speary of Wellston and Carolyn Clark of Pomeroy; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston. Services will be at the chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Phil Henneman officiating. Buck’s final resting place will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston.
