Isedora Vance

Isedora B. Vance, age 93, of Wellston, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born May 4, 1928, in Sunbeam, West Virginia, daughter of the late Clarence G. Lester and Lula May Stacey Lester. Isedora was an accountant who was a former employee of H&R Block in Wellston. She, along with her husband, was also the former owner and operator of Vance Feed Store and Vance Heating and Air Conditioning, both in Wellston. Isedora loved working crossword puzzles, reading and being an accountant.

She is survived by her siblings: Gerri Grubb of Oak Hill, Lillian Elkins of Wellston, Irene Russell of Wellston, Estelle Aldridge of Jackson and Linda Kay Gillispie of Chicago; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, including niece and special daughter, Susan Thomas of Wellston. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Freeland Vance in 2014; brothers: Eugene Lester and Thurman Lester; and sister, Thelma Horn.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 7, at 12 p.m. at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
