Sandra Kay “Sandy” Henson

Sandra Kay “Sandy” Henson, a loving wife and devoted mother, died on March 7, 2021. She was born on October 25, 1945.Sandy enjoyed many passions: fishing, camping, front porch sitting with her family by her side, singing for her Lord and Savior, and spreading His word to anyone who would listen. She often reminded people that “they too, had a friend in Jesus.” She was the perfect mix of sweet and sassy, with a sense of humor in which could quickly turn laughter into tears, and she loved like no other. She was known as the “rock of the family”; loving and supporting each family member or friend, uniquely.

“With your kind eyes, you seen each of us for who we really are; and with your caring heart, you loved us, unconditionally.”

Sandy is survived by her children: Trudie Brady-Brown, Robert (Shannon) Brady, Melissa (Tom) Goheen, Richard (Stacey) Jones, Angie (Jason) Jones; Rhonda (Lynn) Fox, Christiane (Pete) Barr, and Charity Henson; special daughter, Crystal Jones; 12 grandchildren: Tiffany (Truman) Brady, Jon (Celina) Ferris, Ryan (Brandi) Baisden, Felicia Brady, Tonya (Lydia) Baisden, Josh (Sheydean) Ferris, Bobby(Cassie) Brady, Ashley (Kane) Baisden, Nathen (Jasmine) Baisden, Justin (Haruna) Brown, Dakota (Jasmine) Duhl, and Dalton Henson; 27 great-grandchildren; her sister, Linda (Bill) Delong; along with many other beloved family members, friends, and brothers and sisters through Christ.

She was  preceded in death by her husbands, Ronald Henson and Butch Sexton; her father, David Shover; her mother, Gertrude Drake; her brother, David Shover; her sister, Patty Shover; and daughters-in-law, Shannon Brady and Stacey Hughes.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.
