Velva E. Bentley

Velva E. Bentley, age 79, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019, at McNaughten Pointe Nursing Facility in Columbus, Ohio. She was born April 29, 1940 in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Norvil Hounshell and Lois Shook Hounshell Rowan.

Velva was a housewife who enjoyed cooking, shopping and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes.  She is survived by sons, Michael Wilson (Sandra) of Columbus and Dennis Bentley (Char) of Destin, Florida; grandson, James Brown of New Philadelphia; sister, Sherry Taulbee of Tennessee; along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Velva was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Buddy” Bentley in 2007; son, Little Jim Wilson; and siblings, Jackie Jividen, Jimmy Hounshell, Norvil Hounshell and Martha Dheel.

Calling hours will be Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 P.M. and burial will be in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
