Marvin L. Jenkins

Marvin L. Jenkins, 72, passed away Dec. 11, 2019 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born Aug. 7, 1947 in Ray, Ohio to Hobert R. and Violet “Lorena” Doles Jenkins. 

On June 27, 1969, Marvin married Cheryl Mercer who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons:  Jerrod (Annie) Blackstone, VA; Jeremy (Letty), Moody, AL; Justin (Crystal) Kennesaw, GA; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Gary Jenkins, of Florida; one sister, Carol Naomi Wyatt, of Circleville, OH; two sisters-in-law, Gwen Mercer of Jackson OH and Lynn (Tom) Niesley of Clayton, Ohio; brother-in-law, Mike (Nancy) Mercer of Clayton, Ohio; and Marvin is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michele; brother, Ronald W Jenkins; sister, Karen “Jane” Jenkins; paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Carrie Maxwell Jenkins; and maternal grandparents, Ernie V. and Sylvia Brooks Doles.

He was a graduate of Jackson High School, Jackson Ohio – Class of 1965.

He was a member of IBEW and retired in 2002 from USEC in Piketon, Ohio.

A private viewing was held in Alabama followed by Cremation with the Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, AL.  A memorial service will be held in Alabama in January followed by a memorial at a later date in Ohio.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Jackson County Heart Support Group, 215 Broad Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640. The family wishes to thank all for their prayers and words of sympathy.
