Carl Douglas Ross, of Jackson, Ohio, passed at the age of 72, on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born in Jackson, OH on Dec. 10, 1947 to the late Elba and Geraldine (Yerian) Ross. Carl graduated from Jackson High School, served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1988 as a First Class Petty Officer. Carl enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife Lu, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Carl is survived by his wife, Lucille (Piette); sons, Carl Douglas Ross II (Judith) of Louisville, KY, Christopher Matthew Ross (Jennifer) of Salt Lake City, UT, and stepchildren, Robin (Zomerdyk) Hedrick of Virginia Beach, VA, Jill (Morrison) Williams of Columbus, OH, and Daniel Morrison of Holiday, FL. He leaves grandchildren, Sydney, Abigail, Akira, Madison, Owen, and Beckett. Also, surviving are brothers, Earl Ross, Paul Ross, Larry Ross, and sisters, Thelma Harper (Ross), Carol Sears (Ross), Nancy Ross.
Carl was preceded in death by sisters, Ida Kearns (Ross) and Helen Ryan (Ross).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
