Jesse C. Cunningham Jr.

Jesse C. Cunningham, Jr., age 61 of Columbus and formerly of Oak Hill, passed away in Everett, Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 25th 2018. He was born on February 24th 1957 in Gallipolis, Ohio, and son of the late Jesse C. Cunningham, Sr., and Dorothy M. Cunningham.

Jesse was a graduate of Oak Hill High School, class of 1975. He started his working career at the age of 16 where he worked for Clary’s Tomato Farm. Upon graduation he began working for Chessie Systems. Jesse worked as an independent truck driver for Forward Air for 20+ years. He had many driving partners throughout the years, but had a special bond with Jerry Powell, his co-driver for the past 10+ years.

Jesse was a member of the Moose Lodge and avid NRA supporter. He was an outdoor enthusiast. His hobbies included camping, hunting with his family on the family farm, supporting Pickell Racing, and of course riding his Harley Davidson. He loved to frequent Daytona Beach Florida for the annual Bike Week, and Lake Havasu, Arizona to visit family friends.

Jesse was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren. He will forever be their loving papaw. He had a long list of friends that were near and dear to his heart. He was a hero in so many ways. He chose to be an organ/tissue donor, which could help save many others lives.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy M. Cunningham, brother and sister-n-law Jeffrey and Teresa Cunningham (Joshua & Caleb), son and daughter-in-law Jesse L and Crissy Cunningham (Jesse Cohen & Jacob), daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Brett McClung (Regan & Emmitt), daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Ryan Morley (Kennedy), daughter Erica Cunningham, son Sean Cunningham, as well as grand daughter Kaylinn (kay kay)

He is preceded in death by his father Jesse C. Cunningham, Sr.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the Mayhew Brown Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11 am with Reverend Janie Karl officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
