Naomi Ruth Starcher

Naomi Ruth Starcher, age 80, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at Heartland of Jackson. She was born in Jackson County, Ohio on June 25, 1938 to the late Cecil Earl Costilow and Charlotte Virginia (Scurlock) Costilow.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Francis O. Spires and Fred Starcher; a son, Jeffrey Allen Hall; brother, Rudy Costilow; and sister, Marjorie Blanton; and one grandson, Jay Spires.

Naomi was a talented pianist, she played at many local churches and loved people.

She is survived by children: Terri Lynn Curry, Timothy Wayne (Polly) Hall, Charlotte “Cricket” (Raymond) Darnell, Wanda Leigh (Jim) Gill, David Owen (Cherissa) Spires, Dan (Nancy) Spires and Dale (Beth) Spires; siblings: Bud Costilow, Judy Ireland and Gerald “Polly” Costilow; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 12 p.m. with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m.
