Carolyn S. Zinn, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born June 12, 1942 in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Phillip and Eva Post Downard.
Carolyn was a loving homemaker and a member of Buckeye Church in Jackson. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower and vegetable gardens and going to yard sales. Carolyn loved spending time with her family, especially babysitting for her great-grandchildren, Jayden and Judson. Each one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in Carolyn’s heart. She is survived by her children, Katherine Green of Jackson, Robin Zinn of Jackson, and Dale Zinn, Jr. of Hamden; brother, Harry Downard of Wellston; along with 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Zinn, Sr. in 2000; sisters, Doris Denney and Phyllis Zinn; and brothers, Gordon Downard, Kenny Downard, and Ron Downard.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 5-8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Sunday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Charlton officiating.
