Linda (Largent) Wooten

Linda (Largent) Wooten, age 69, of Jackson, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 26, 1949 in Columbus to the late Virgil Pete and Patricia (Nelson) Largent.

Linda was a 1967 graduate of Jackson High School. She later was the secretary to the principal at Jackson High School until the birth of her first child, Chad. She later devoted her life to taking care of numerous teachers’ children and her beloved grandchildren. Linda managed the Eclipse Baton Corps for the last 28 years.

She is survived by her children, Chad (Stephanie) Wooten, of Jackson, Doug (Sarah) Wooten, of Jackson and Ashley (Jeremy) Sturgill, of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jace, Abby, Bryner and Calianne; siblings, Gerald (Mary Lou) Largent, Jim (Bernie) Largent and Sue Ellison (Dave Bals) and half-sister, Barbara Fuller. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl in 2017 and daughter, Cynthia Sue Wooten.

Friends may call Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Minister Greg Potter officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
