Homer (Charles) Duda, 82, of Chillicothe, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 15, 1935 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Sylvia (Drombroski) and John J. Duda Sr.

Homer is survived by his wife of 62 years, MaryEllen Spires-Duda; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Rodney Gervais; special granddaughter, Rachel (Flint) Tyler Gervais; brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Bobette Spires, of Wellston; brother-in-law, Ed Ruger, of Haviland; loving sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Bim Norton, of Wellston; sister-in-law, Kay Duda, of Columbus; brother, Paul Duda of Columbus and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; infant sister; brother, John (Jack) Duda; sisters-in-law, Betty Griffiths-Weis, Patricia Ruger, Joyce Exline; brother-in-law, Charles (Mick) Exline, Romey Spires, and several nieces and nephews.

Homer retired from Mead Central Research in 1992 after 38 years. He was a 1953 graduate of Wellston High School and after graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the Korean War. In his retirement years, Homer enjoyed golfing and he was a member of the American Legion Post 757.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Paula Christian officiating. A private burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from noon until time of service on Tuesday.
