Johnnie R. Brewer, 66, of Jackson, passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at Heartland of Jackson. He was born in Kermit, West Virginia on Jan. 26, 1951 to the late Aaron and Amanda (Messer) Brewer. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Annita “Annie” Brewer; a son, Johnnie R. Brewer Jr.; a grandson, Allen Miller; four brothers: Ernest, Troy and Jake Brewer, along with an infant brother; and one sister, Bernice.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Tom) Kisor; grandchildren: Heather (Kevin) Park and John Aaron Brewer; great-grandchildren: John, Izzabell, Annabell, Marabell, Jason, Kamden, Braxton, Colton and Macey; brothers: Aaron “Junior” and Thurman Brewer; sisters: Stellie, Hester and Pauline; and an “adopted” son, Kelsey Kuhn.

Johnnie worked as an electrician for the City of Jackson and at the Atomic Plant in Piketon. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He thought there was nothing greater than a child. He also enjoyed his friends, fishing, hunting and going to casinos.

Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jack Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11 at the funeral home.
