Donna Jean Rouse Swain Jordan

Donna Jean Rouse Swain Jordan, age 82 of Jackson, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born in Jackson, Ohio on July 28, 1935 to the late Elmer and Stella (Smith) Rouse. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Swain, her second husband, Elmer Jordan, along with 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

She is survived by 5 children: Patricia Williams, Judy Canter, Paul Swain, Penny Landrum and Keith Swain – all of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Tammy; 5 step-children: Rita, Sharon, Patty, Pamela and Eddie; a sister, Betty Garvey; and a brother, Robert Rouse. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many other friends, and a special friend, Phyllis Downard.

Donna was a wonderful mother and loved her children dearly. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses until her health declined. Her love for music was such a big part of her life. She wrote songs and poetry and until just a few days before her death, she still tried to sing. She loved dancing and all the arts. She will always be in our hearts and will be remembered as a beautiful mother, a loving sister, a precious grandmother, sweet Aunt Donna and a wonderful friend.

No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home and Southern Ohio Cremation Services in Jackson.
