James F. Tribby

James F. Tribby, age 80, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Edgewood Manor in Wellston. He was born Feb. 15, 1937 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Leonard Tribby and Delphia Marks Tribby.

Jim was a 1956 graduate of Wellston High School. He was a proud veteran who served two tours of duty with the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Jim was a former employee of Winter’s Products and McNally Pittsburg Manufacturing, and later, he retired from Frick-Gallagher Manufacturing Co. in Wellston, where he was employed for 33 years. He was a lifetime member of the Black Diamond Lodge #538 F&AM and a member of the American Legion Post 371. Jim enjoyed being outdoors camping, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Arlene R. McManaway Tribby; children, Debbie Griffith (Neal) of Coalton, Jim Tribby (Debbie) of Chillicothe, Dwaine Tribby (Karen Grooms) of Wellston and Sherree Tribby of Wellston; grandchildren, Meagen Anderson, Ryan Griffith, Brianna Willis and Blake Tribby; and great-grandchildren, Jayden Mullins, Eliana Anderson and Kohen Griffith.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Gayla E. Tribby, and his brother, Charles Tribby.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with a Masonic service beginning at 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.
