Norma Lee Holp

Norma Lee Holp, age 92, of Jackson, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Four Winds Community in Jackson. She was born Oct. 3, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Orville D. Case and Helen Faye Kolp Case.

Norma, a veteran of the United States Navy who served during WW II, was an avid supporter of veterans’ associations including Paralyzed Veterans, Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, to name a few. She was a homemaker who was also a former teacher’s aide at both Franklin Elementary and Southview Elementary in Jackson. She was a member of the Darke County Steam Threshers Association and in her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, adult coloring books, her pets, and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norma enjoyed life.

She is survived by daughter, Penny L. Sheeter of Jackson; son, John Holp, Jr. (Joyce) of Arcanum, Oh.; grandchildren, Jenna Sheeter Bowman (Steve) of Jackson, Michael Sheeter, Jr. (Jenny) of Jackson, Drew Holp of Dayton and Mac Legenzoff of Arcanum, Oh.; step-granddaughter, Tiffany Brookey (Matt) of Arcanum, Oh.; great-grandchildren, Blake, Max, Ava and Ty, and step-great-grandchildren, Matthew, Zoey and Mia.

Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Holp, Sr.; son, Scott Holp; son-in-law, Michael D. Sheeter, Sr. and brother, Bob Case.

Private family graveside services, with military honors, will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Oh., under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
