Laura Jane Falcon, of Jackson (formerly of Chicago), age 90, passed away Tuesday May 30, 2017 at Heartland. She was born to Orville Waverly Vaughn and Suda P. “Porter” Vaughn on March 26, 1927 in Fleming, Kentucky.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, working jigsaw puzzles, and the Mardi Gras Casino.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by sisters: Pauline Hester, Little Mae Vaughn, Mona Brown and Naomi “Norma” Hodge.
Laura is survived by her children: Victoria Stannard and Ray (Sherry) Mitchell; grandchildren: Ray (Stephanie) Mitchell Jr., Donald (Joni) Mitchell, Stephanie (Marty) Straw; great grandchildren: Zach, Jarod, Devin, Sebastian, Gabriel and Isabella; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. Service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Todd Barlow officiating. Services are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home.
