Phyliss Angeline Coyan

Phyliss Angeline Coyan, age 83, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2017 at Caring Touch Compassionate Care Facility in Circleville, Ohio with her family by her side. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Irene (Reeves) Naugle, who passed away when Phyliss was just weeks old, and Harry Naugle. Phyliss lived most of her life in Jackson, Ohio, moving to Circleville five years ago.

Phyliss is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Richard “Dick” Coyan of Circleville, Ohio; son, Richard Jr. (Linda) Coyan of Circleville, Ohio; daughter, Jackie Curtis of Canal Winchester, Ohio; grandchildren: Brian (Heather) Coyan, Jason (Brandy) Coyan, Tiffany Coyan, Matthew (Stacy) Curtis, and Danielle (Robert) Rippy; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.

In addition to her parents, Phyliss was preceded in death by her stepmother, Thelma (Colburn) Naugle; siblings: Harry Naugle, Jr., Barbara Detty, and David Naugle; and her son-in-law, Scott Curtis.

Phyliss was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker who also enjoyed working at A.L. Terry Jewelers for almost 20 years. Phyliss was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson. After retirement, Dick and Phyliss enjoyed spending their free time traveling and being with family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 35 Broadway St., Jackson, OH 45640, with Pastor Tim Keeton officiating.
