Robert Arthur “Bob” Cummons, age 82, passed away Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born April 12th, 1934 in Lecta, Ohio to the late William H. and Bessie V. (Sprouse) Cummons.
Surviving family members include: daughter, Virginia (Vince) Haley of Lawrence, Michigan; son, James Steven (Birgit) Cummons of Coalton, Ohio; brothers, Tommy (Geraldine) Cummons, Danny (Shirley) Cummons, and Kenny Cummons all of Gallipolis, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Sharon (Billy) Cummons and Darlene (Carl) Beaver; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly; including his “second family” at A&A Truck Stop.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie J. (Tomblin) Cummons; son, Robert Alan Cummons; and brother, William “F” (Billy) Cummons.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at 2pm with son-in-law, Vince Haley officiating at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Burial will follow at C.M.
