Forrest “Perk” E. McCain

Forrest “Perk” E. McCain, age 86, of Oak Hill, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Heartland of Jackson. He was born February 3, 1930 in Oak Hill to the late Fred and Nora (Humphreys) McCain. Perk served in the Army during the Korean War and also was a past commander of the Legion of Oak Hill.

Perk is survived by sons, Robbie (Rita) Detty, Zach (Stacy) McCain; daughter, Meagan McCain; grandsons, Brian (Lisa) Detty, Matthew Detty; great-grandchildren, Nicole Detty, Chase Detty, Matison Detty, Kylie McCain; sister, Vergie Smittle; brothers, Estel (Jeanene), Marvin (Kay) McCain; and his beloved dog Hank.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Albert McCain, Celia Nance, Geneva Kisor, Beulah Morgan, Wilma Thomas, Jessie Boggs, Lenzy McCain, Lawrence McCain and George Melvin McCain.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Linda Plummer officiating at the Lewis Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery with military honors. Friends and family may call Sunday, February 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
