Donald Eugene Smith, 79, of Oak Hill, Ohio died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born July 7, 1936 in Oak Hill, Ohio, the son of the late James Smith and Gladys (Hill) Smith.
Surviving are his significant other, Dorothy Dixon; two sons, Mark Smith, of Columbus, Ohio and Jim Smith, of Oak Hill; five step-sons, Clark Mace, Greg Mace, Roger Mace, of Columbus, Tim Dixon, and Tony Dixon, of Oak Hill; a step-daughter, Michelle Brofford, of Oak Hill; two brothers, Jim Smith, of Columbus and Paul Smith, of Oak Hill; a sister, Jean Evans, of Columbus, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly Bowen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday February, 17, 2016 at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly. Burial will follow in Penniston Cemetery, Buchanan, Ohio. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
