Ovid “Butch” Trotter

Ovid “Butch” Trotter, age 72, of Oak Hill, Ohio, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 28, 2016.

During his life, Butch served his country by serving in the Air Force and Vietnam War; he also served his community in the police, fire and EMS services of Oak Hill. He retired from the Village of Oak Hill as the Superintendent of Public Works and Holzer ER of Jackson. He served as a deacon at Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Phyllis Carter Trotter, of 54 wonderful years of marriage; his two sons, David (Vicki) of South Carolina and Brian of Oak Hill; three grandchildren, Joshua, Stephanie and Patrick Trotter; and his mother, Helen V. Mitchell of South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Trotter.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Services will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
