Joseph E. Keating, Sr.

Joseph E. Keating, Sr., age 80, of Wellston, passed away peacefully Friday morning, January 22, 2016 at his home. He was born December 28, 1935 at the same home in which he passed away.

Joe was a 1953 graduate of Wellston High School. He was a former employee for approximately 25 years at McNally Pittsburg Manufacturing in Wellston, where he was a sheet metal layout man. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, boating and he loved to go to gun shoots. He attended the Community of Christ Church in Wellston.

Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann E. Sherman Keating; children, Debora McFarland (Dennis) of New Plymouth, Joyce Tipton (Rick) of Wellston, Cathy Hollingshead (Tom) of Wellston and Joseph Keating, Jr. (Qiao) of Zanesville; brother, William Keating of Florence, SC, as well as eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two nieces.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by twin grandchildren, Tom and Tara Hollingshead and two infant brothers.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Elder Douglas Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
